Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
--- Process invoices based on return authorizations for cigarette and tobacco products, as well as state taxes associated with those returns.
--- Request credits with the states for tax refunds.
--- File monthly, quarterly, and yearly tobacco and cigarette returns for multiple states.
--- File monthly, quarterly, and yearly sales tax returns and other miscellaneous returns.
--- Billing and collections for salvage inventory.
--- Crosstrain with the other tax specialist, to develop the knowledge and skills to support when needed on other state tax reporting.
--- Work with states, vendors, departments within GSC, and others to successfully report accurately and timely.
--- Assist with collecting outstanding credits on vendor accounts.
--- Assist with the purchase and payment of cigarette stamps for multiple states and divisions.
--- Work with inventory control at multiple divisions to ensure accurate cigarette and cigarette stamp counts for month-end closes.
--- Duties will also include a variety of clerical and accounting tasks as assigned by the Finance Department.
--- GSC will provide on-the-job training. Prefer two or more years working in accounting/tax.
